**partial blog written on Christmas day before I got too eepy nd fell asleep with my laptop open on my bed** Merry Christmas everypony!!!

It's currently early evening on Christmas Day. I'm snuggied down in bed, digesting a huge amount of hot pot from Christmas lunch with my family. This Christmas I went to stay with them on Christmas Eve after work and we kinda just relaxed and hung out. I love visiting my parents, they're very cool and their farm is one of my most favourite places. It was my first Christmas without Hamster and Trixie, which was a little hard. But it's also hard to be too sad as they lived long, happy lives. Just need to keep reminding myself that. For Christmas this year my parents got me this awesome pair of platform lace Converses! They're sooo dreamy!! I can't wait to wear them with lolita (yes I'm a proud sneakerlita. I'm cringe but I'm free and my feet don't hurt).

As for my Christmas gift to myself, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered Angelic Pretty's Cotton Candy Shop JSK in pink + the headbow! Now you may be thinking "but Ally, don't you already have that print?" and you'd be correct, I do! But I only have the salo and not the original JSK which is my preferred version and dream dress. I picked it up for an ehhh decent price on Closet Child the other night. I had originally wanted to look for a new lolita main piece while in Japan, but all the spring releases are kind of eh and I've since been warned irl second hand lolita shopping can be pretty bad in Tokyo. So might as well just get my dream dress and wear that to Japan. Hopefully the JP lolitas don't judge me too much for wearing a 10yo dress but they'll think I'm a stupid ugly gaijin too fat and uncoordinated for lolita anyway so what does it even matter (they aren't wrong but like just let me delude myself).

I've been having lots of fun recently hanging out with friends and doing holiday season activities. Eating summer berries, seeing the Christmas lights, Christmas parties, etc. It's been super fun but with that + all the extra hours at work + how hot it's been BOY am I getting tired. Tomorrow is Boxing Day so I expect to be even more broken after that. But then it's just 2 more days and I have a whooole 4 days to myself.

Hellooo 2025!! New year, same me. I got only a little bit into that last blog before fully konking out, so today I'm sitting down at 9am to ensure that does not happen again lololol. In all seriousness I was actually just inspired by reading other webmaster's new years blogs to write my own before it's too late. This year is of course a pretty big one for me as in 37 days I will be landing in Japan! I still can't really believe it. I'll also be meeting Koinuko IRL for the first time ever!! My first time meeting a friend I made via my website... Crazy stuff, we really need to get some more planning done tho :'D The only events we've got fully booked so far are a few cafe reservations and a trip to visit my uncle. Oh well we've got like a month! I'll need to start planning my outfits to wear there soon. I'll probably get that done this week.

Speaking of this week, having 4 days off for New Years was not enough for me (mainly because I hate my job) and I've taken a whole ass week off. I have a huge amount of leave saved up so like why the hell not? I'm planning to get, well, a lot of planning done in this week off. I'm also going to be going on some thrifting trips with my friend D! We've been planning to go to a couple of towns slightly further away for a while now. Historical towns so they're great for op shopping as well as a bit of sight seeing. At the moment I'm really on the look out for some nice wall shelving..

Moving past the very immediate future of this year, I also have a few goals/plans for the rest of the year beyond my holiday. My biggest goal is to get a new job. I'd really love to get an office job. Can I be like a receptionist or something? I want to do less work for more money and I'm not kidding! My ass is not made for retail. I also have Volume 4 of Milk & Honey to start planning for. I've already got some fun ideas for it. I wanna start on my own (filler) articles sooner in the year this time. I think it's better to have too many filler articles from me and cut some out than get to the end of the year and have not enough from other people like I struggled with last year. I've also been toying with the idea of doing a lolita community cookbook zine. Might be fun...

As for less grand plans for 2025, I have a little list of ins and outs.

In:

• Get back into pixel art (and art in general)
• More embroidery
• Writing letters
• Having OCs again
• Burning my own CDs
• Leaving the house for fun activities (not just for work/necessities)
• Learn either crochet or candlewicking (knot based embroidery)
• Improve makeup skills
• Cook more bulk, freezable, healthy meals
• Read more (this includes visual novels, bare minimum babe)
• Going on a walk when sad instead of wallowing
• Mending broken things immediately instead of putting them in a drawer of "things to be mended" and then never doing it

Out:

• Doomscrolling and toxic forums
• YouTube drama videos about people you don't even know
• Snacking when bored
• Feeling guilt about my weight
• Buying clothes sizes too big (you're not as obese as you think)

I think that's a pretty good list right? Don't you?

Yesterday morning D and I took the Christmas tree down and afterwards we went to a local park that features river access with an eel viewing platform. You can get right down to the water in a little rapid area where the eels like to congregate and you can reach into the water and pat them! They don't really like it I think but they'll let you do it if you're feeding them wet cat food or raw mince. The eels were very soft and slimey to the touch and had very cute faces. I'd like to do more fun little things like this in 2025. Also, a couple of days ago not only did my aforementioned Cotton Candy Shop JSK arrive, but so did my Christmas card from Arachne. This letter blew me away ahh the artwork was so lovely I framed it. I can't wait to use the stationary pieces in my scrapbook. You can view her letter here as well as previous letters I've recieved. I'm also always open to letter trades and would like to do more in the new year

In terms on media, D and I saw Sonic The Hedgehog 3 a few days ago and it was the greatest movie I've ever seen. Also in the Christmas Nu: Carnival event I pulled 220 times and only pulled 1 single Kuya SSR. Neither Olivine nor Blade, my two best boys, came home. So I will proceed to hate this stupid app until next year's pity re run where I'll just fucking buy them I also recently picked up the entire series of Buffy on DVD so I hope to get onto watching that soon! And in case anyone wondered, I finally finished that cross stitch!!! It's up on my wall and looks amazing. I'm so proud of it! I've also already started a new, smaller, cross stitch based on the print Candy Sprinkle by Angelic Pretty. So please do look forward to that.
