Harajuku Fashion Walk

February 16, 2025.

I need everyone to say a big "thank you Koinuko" for being such a good sport and letting me drag her around Harajuku on a busy as heck Sunday. This was our first day going somewhere via the trains. We got out at Harajuku station and met up with my lolita friend from the New Zealand comm, Leanne! Leanne had been to Japan and done the Harajuku Fashion walk before, so she was kind of our guide.

First we popped into ACDC Rag to pick up a few things for her, then we headed down Takashita to get through a little bit of La Foret before the walk. La Foret... I could have spent days there... Too bad we only got a couple of hours. I picked up a single necklace at Angelic Pretty before doing my actual big spending at Kawaii Stars. I wish I'd bought even more at Kawaii Stars to be very honest. It was one of the stores I was most excited to visit. We also visited the famous Sailor Moon Store. Getting to see Takeuchi's paintings in person was mind blowing. Her colouring is even brighter in person. I picked up a CD of the best of the 90s Sailor Moon anime OST. All of the stores in La Foret were so pretty!!! I want to go back so baddd.

The Harajuku fashion walk was awesome. I wish I hadn't been so shy and had maybe brought some candies from back home to share. Oh well, there's always next time. I still did meet some really amazing people though and even exchanged insta handles with some! If you're someone I met in Harajuku hi!!!! I hope you're enjoying my website!! The regular Harajuku fashion walk mixed itself with the Decora fashion walk due to scheduling issues. Meaning our walk was very Decora heavy, but that just made it even more fun!

Getting to wander Harajuku was probably my favourite part of the day. Seeing all of these iconic locations... It was actually a shame in a way that I was stuck on the walk as I would have loved to have stopped at these locations and had a peek inside.

Though there was one weird bit, when we posed for a big group photo outside of 9% Doki Doki, a random dude came behind our group to get to some door and on his way he pushed me!!! Luckily the girls in front of me caught me and held me up but omg. Dude literally tried to push me to the ground to get past me. Open hands and everything wtf???

The walk went on for way longer than expected and we ended up pretty tired from it. I think if i do it again someday I'll break off a little earlier to go back to shopping. After the walk Koinuko and I got yakiniku with Koinuko's sister in law. I terrified them both by ordering chicken livers. They were yummy but way too rich and I couldn't finish them whoops.

Poor Koinuko was so exhausted after this huge day in Harajuku TvT I almost felt guilty that I would be dragging her back there again the next day.

Almost.

Fun picture of the harajuku Fashion Walk attendees right before we set off.
