It's Cuter to Forgive

Hello friends! Long time no blog. Things have been... Hm. Well. They've certainly been. Some fun and good things have happened, but also a lot of bad. So much bad. My mental health has lowkey taken a nosedive lol. That's sort of why I haven't been blogging, that and I've been busy. Do people even read my blogs? I feel like nobody does. If you do, please leave a comment in my cbox every now and then! It would be nice to get a shout back from the void on occasion.

I don't really want to dwell on the bad things of late, or discuss anything too personal, so instead I'll talk about the fun things! In August I attended my first (and only) lolita meet post OUAF! I went to a cat cafe for the first time with a few of my lolita friends. It was sooo fun and cute!! The cat cafe was lovely, we went to Neko Ngeru which is an adoption cat cafe. So all of the cats (bar 1 who is a permanent special needs resident) are rescue cats up for adoption. The cats were so cute and friendly.

Following the cat cafe we went to Japan Mart to buy heaps of cute snacks, then we got lunch and went to Build-A-Bear where I got a little tuxedo costume for my Choco Cat plushie. It was such a wonderful meet, I really do want to go to more meets and see my lolita friends more. Lolita really is such a bright spark in my life right now.

To attend this meet I wore my latest main piece acquisition, Dreamy Pony Ribbon Ribbon JSK by Baby. This dress is so sweet and fancy! I purchased it with the straps entirely stretched out, so I (painfully) replaced the old elastic with ribbons so that it can retain the ruffle effect without the annoying nature of elastic straps. I really don't get elastic straps. Well I mean I do it looks cute and it makes it more size accessible but also I won't want my dress to fall down under my boobs if I walk at a slightly brisk pace. I also like to be able to hang my dresses on a hanger lol. I also had a really wonderful order from Dollyhouse come in! Though I haven't taken any photos of it yet. I've been bad at taking photos of things recently lol.

I've been really into BTSSB items recently. Not that I'm any less in love with AP, I think I've just accepted that the AP market is totally fucked and I can't afford to get my hands on even the shittiest AP at this point. Also, there is so much Baby out there that if it was AP it would be ten million dollars but because it's Baby it's like $80. It's ridiculous.

I haven't gotten to wear lolita very much at all following this meet, but I have been working on my zine a lot! It's the final volume and I'm extremely close to finishing. I'm dreading paying for printing, but it's gonna be worth it. 5 whole volumes. It's something I'm really proud of.

The other really exciting thing that happened in August was I went on a short trip to the mountain town of Ohakune with my friends! It felt a lot like one of those hot springs town episodes in an anime lol. We went up the mountain to play in the snow, went on a nature walk, went to an alpaca farm, a train museum and a really wacky dinosaur tourist trap museum lol. I also got to soak in two different hot tubs which was just what I needed, one was an open air spa pool with a view of the mountain, the other was an open air wood stove hot tub. Both basically at the foot of the mount lol. Soaking in hot water really is so good.

When I got back from this trip I had a lot more to talk about it and wanted to make this huge blog post, but I just haven't had the energy. I haven't had the energy for a lot of things recently! But I refuse to let me brain win and have forced myself to work on this weird little project of mine. I've been slowly making a lolita outfit for this porcelain doll I op shopped. Her name is Angelique. I've made her a dress and KC roughly based on late 00s AP OPs and I'm now on the look out for some new shoes for her and some socks I can alter to make into lace topped OTKs. I also need to make her some jewellery and fix up her hair...

I guess we'll get on to the media segment. I've been enjoying so much media recently!! The most significant piece of media being The Husky and his White Cat Shizun, I finally finished reading it! Ohhhh my god it was so good! I can't believe how good that series was. Wow... I wish I was cleverer so I could articulate why I love it so much better. I adore every single character, even the bad ones. Mo Ran and Chu Wanning might be my new OTP like fuuuuck man they rlly are made for each other. Chinese yaoi is something else. Mo-zongshi and Taxian-jun competing in the extras was everything I ever needed in life. And my lovely Xue Mengmeng!!! Kyaaaa he is so cuteiful!!!! I laughed, I cried, I experienced levels of moe yet unknown to me. 10/10 book PLEASE read it!!! I need to look into Meatbun's other works.

I also have been watching Chainsmoker Cat as it's been airing. If you know me you know I love shitty gag anime. This show was basically just Osomatsu-san but with catgirls so obviously I loved it. My favourite is Yakuneko, followed by the hentai mangaka. If you liked Osomatsu-san you'll probably like this anime. The other interesting thing I recently watched was the movie Braindead. I've wanted to see this film for a while, I love kiwi horror comedy and this is a real classic. It holds up really well.

Have you been keeping up with the teasers for the Nu:Carnival X Dramatical Murder collab? You know damn well I have. I was there when it was announced at The Chiral Night live livestream!! Ohh man the live was so cool, I'm sad there's no DVD being made. The collaboration event starts tomorrow and I'm so excited. I'm kind of just mad I have to go to work tomorrow so I can't spend my entire day enjoying it.

That's kind of all I have to talk about. I really wish I could take a break from everything to focus on myself for a bit but alas I'm an adult and am unable to do that. I hope I can wear lolita again soon.
