Happy Easter!
22/04/2025

Hello friends! Long time no see! Happy belated Easter! In the past few months a lot has changed, but a lot has also stayed the same.
To address the biggest piece of news that some of you have been waiting to hear about...
I went to Japan!!!
I spent two spectacular weeks in Japan with my wonderful friend
Koinuko! And we had so much fun. Sooo much fun that I'm still working on a huuuge blog of each individual day of the trip! Hopefully it'll be out very soon. But I am very lazy and also life has been life-ing so y'know. It'll be out when it's out. Apologies to all of my website friends who I've been neglecting since my trip.
Straight after I got home from my trip I got sick and it was horrible. I then immediately had the busiest weekend of the year! One of my best friends moved to Australia so we had a huge goodbye party for her. Then the next day I went to what will likely be the biggest lolita meet I'll attend this year!
I traveled to Wellington with my friend D to visit the
Vivianne Westwood jewellery exhibition at Te Papa. Lolitas from across the country gathered to see this exhibition and it was stunning. I felt so inspired to create following the exhibition. I highly recommend visiting if it comes to your country. It was so cool to see all of these beautiful pieces I'd only ever seen online before. It was especially exciting to see all of the orbs.
Following the exhibit, we made our way down to Cuba Street to our favourite cafe
Origami. We somehow managed to squeeze 28 lolitas into that tiny cafe for high tea. Tea at Origami was delightful as always. I'd like to try other places for high tea in Wellington, but it seems Origami is the only place that can (just barely) fit us all. Oh well!
After tea we went to play in the nearby park for a bit. Take photos, trade stickers and photocards, classic lolita activities. Then a few of us did a little bit of shopping and went home. I was lucky enough to pick up
volume 4 of Kamisama Kiss which is a series I would really love to collect. This day trip made for a really lovely last outing of the summer.
The seasons have been slowly changing as the world starts to slow down for the winter. Work has been wearing me out.
I really hate my job. I do so much gross work for so little money and barely any hours. I like bra fitting, it's fun and rewarding. But I'm so tired of dressing and undressing elderly and obese women and dealing with biohazard "accidents" for minimum wage.

I'm also tired of retail in general as when I'm not dealing with customers or gross stuff, I'm doing literally nothing as we don't get a huge amount of customers in, leading me to feel like a staffie being kept in a city apartment.
I used the last of my PTO for a while to go to an interview for a job I didn't even get OTL so things on the job front are looking grim.

Employment is getting really difficult in my area and alas it's going to get a lot worse before it gets any better... It's been making me pretty depressed, but also I've been trying to remind myself that things aren't so bad. I live in a very secure flat right now with my friend who owns the house. I still wish I could just have a
real full time job where I get to do things all day, every day and get paid real money.

Out of desperation to make money, I've decided to become an influencer. Jokes aside, I have actually been wanting to play with making videos more! I need to make a new room tour, and I also wouldn't mind making videos showcasing some of my collections more in depth. Would anyone be interested in a video tour of my zine and doujin collection? Or maybe a thrift with me video showing the places I like to browse the most in thrift stores? I've been watching a lot of cute vlogs as the weather gets colder and I snuggle up more. They make me wish I had friends IRL (or at all tbh) who were into the cute things I like.
I also want to get back into letter writing. I got a lot of requests about letters while I was in Japan for some reason. But I ignored them due to being in Japan. I then continued to ignore them because I had zero motivation. But I'd like to force myself back into it. I also really need to catch up on all of my online friend's blogs ahhh... I've been spending all of my free time cross stitching and playing Picross 3D on my 3DS... I'm currently working on a cross stitch of a country style bunny rabbit in a little garden full of kitties and ducks.
Yesterday I went to my first convention this year:
Wellington Armageddon Expo. I haven't been to Wellygeddon since 2021. It was super fun, they had a huge artist alley. I'd been getting sick of how full of bootleg dropshipped shit that geddon was full of. So popping in just to see what it was like after a few years and finding it was a nearly 50/50 split between dropship weebshit and artist alley was an awesome surprise! Geddon for a time was more 80/20 shit to art for a time after Madman Entertainment was eaten by Cuntchyroll and was therefore no longer selling manga and anime dvds at their classic Armageddon Expo discount.

Instead of finding any other animanga stores to replace them they just brought in even more anime dropshipping stores and allocated fewer and fewer stalls to indie merchandise sellers and artists. So yeah! Nice to see.

Onto the media segment! I finally finished
Kawase's route in
Hashihime of Old Book Town! It was very good, I found their ending sweet and satisfying. Obviously not as adorable and heartwrenching as Minakami's, but it was a perfect ending for Kawase. I need to start Hanazawa's route but he scares me aaahh I just wanna do Hakase's route already!!!
I also binged the anime
The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent which was really cute! Since getting home from Japan I've been in the mood to catch up on BL manga as well. Maybe I'm just in the mood for romance! I've been reading series such as
Cherry Magic and
The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter. I really want to read more of
Demon Boss Mr Gokudera after seeing soo much promo for it in Japan, but only the first two volumes seem to be translated T0T if anyone knows of any more translations, please let me know!!
And
Nu: Carnival... Ohhh Nu: Carnival... End of Part 1 was insane. I love this stupid game so much. I just... I can't believe what's been happening.

Have you been enjoying the new cabin system? I like it! But I wish the gacha for it was better.. Oh well! I'm very excited for the new magical girl themed event and will 100% be pulling for Blade and maybe Garu if I can get him... Hopefully that damn fox doesn't get in my way again
Until next time!
